Using the FSA and HSA cards requires no extra effort on the customer’s part.  At the end of their shopping trip, they simply take all their items to the checkout, swipe their card and the cashier will ring all their items as usual.  Products that qualify under the flexible/health spending program will be flagged on the register receipt at the end of the transaction with a “+” so that they can easily be identified as eligible items.  If other items were purchased during that same shopping trip, a balance will be presented to the customer, at which time they can then choose their desired form of payment.
